The Chief Inspector of Mines, also Chief Inspector of Explosives of the Minerals Commission has issued a directive stating that the transportation of Ammonium Nitrate (AN) must now be done under an Armed Police Escort on public roads.
This directive is in response to a recent incident involving the theft of Ammonium Nitrate and diesel fuel.
The directive aims to ensure the safety and security of both the personnel involved in transportation and the product itself.
The Minerals Commission urges all explosives and ammonium nitrate dealers and transporters to take this directive seriously and comply with the requirement of transporting Ammonium Nitrate under an Armed Police Escort.
